About Captain Kroeck
Captain Gary “Doug” Kroeck grew up on the Lakes of the Ozarks, in Missouri, and has been around boats his entire life. He has operated many types of boats and vessels that range in size from jet skis, sailboats, crew boats, towing vessels, and even a 120 ft. ferry. He spent five years as the captain on a 35 ft. Tug, operating daily in Port Canaveral, escorting and assisting a contracted ship.

BP Oil Spill Cleanup
He spent 10 months working in the oil fields of the Gulf of Mexico helping cleanup efforts after the BP oil spill retrieving containment booms and doing search missions for oil slicks. He has spent time operating a crew boat to help resupply offshore vessels and oil platforms.
Maritime Career
During his maritime career, he worked 2 years on a dredge ship working along the east coast. He currently holds a 100 Gross Ton Master Captains license issued by the United States Coast Guard, with a commercial towing and sailing endorsement.
He also holds a Standards and Training Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) certification, which certifies him to work on vessels or ships that require this training. He currently works part-time as a captain for Tow Boat U.S. where he responds to disabled boaters in need of assistance. He is also, “On Call For Life”, for your cruise line 24/7/365.
