Captain William “Bill” Willis started his professional career as a Police Officer in 1996. Then, after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, he began his maritime policing career in 2004 with the Sanford Police Department performing marine patrol operations in the St. Johns River.

Marine Patrol Officer

In 2011, he came to Port Canaveral where he was employed by the Port Canaveral Police Department as a Marine Patrol Officer. He has trained newly hired police officers on marine enforcement operations and performed search and rescue operations at the request of outside law enforcement agencies.

During his time there, he attended multiple local and state law enforcement marine courses, as well as, federal marine operation courses. While working as a marine patrol officer, he logged thousands of hours behind the helm running patrols in day and night conditions, as well as, adverse weather conditions.

High-Value Asset Protection

He has performed high-value asset protection and ship escorts for cruise, cargo and military ships. He holds a 25 Gross Ton Master Captains License with a towing endorsement, issued by the United States Coast Guard. Due to his vast knowledge of marine operations, in Port Canaveral and the coastal waters, as well as being trusted, he was approached by a local cruise line and asked to help their business save lives and revenue.

He created a business model and submitted it to the local cruise line, a few short months later BMW Vessel Response, LLC, was established. This new and innovative way will save lives and revenue for the cruise and cargo industry. He believes in his business motto, “On Call For Life,” and will guarantee that his captains and boats will be ready for your call 24/7/365.
